Surah Al Baqarah is the 2nd chapter of the Qur’an.

How many ayats (verses) are in surah al Baqarah? There are 286 ayats in surah al Baqarah. This makes surah baqarah the longest one in the holy Qur’an.

It is considered one of the most important surahs as it not only provides guidance through stories but also covers many topics which include the stories of Adam (A.S), Ibrahim (A.S) and Musa (A.S). It is named ‘The Cow’ because of the story it repeats regarding Musa (A.S).
