10 Special Times to Make Du’a and Have it Accepted

Sincere Du’a has the power to make almost anything possible.

Did you know there are certain times you can make du’a to increase the likeliness of it being accepted?

Below we have listed 10 special times you should make try and make Du’a.

10 Best Times to Make Du’a (Supplication)

 1) The Last Third of the Night 

Abu Hurairah (RA) narrated that Our Prophet (SAW) said:

In the last third of every night our Load, Allah (SWT) descends to the lowermost heaven and says; “Who is calling Me, so that I may answer him? Who is asking Me so that may I grant him? Who is seeking forgiveness from Me so that I may forgive him?.”Bukhari, Hadith Qudsi

 2) Between Adhaan & Iqamah 

Anas (RA) narrated that Allah’s Messenger (SAW) said:

“A supplication made between the Adhan and Iqama is not rejected.”Ahmad & Abu Dawud

 3) After Each Obligitory Salah 

Narrated Abu Omamah (RA): that Allah’s Messenger (SAW) was asked:

“O Messenger of Allah, which supplication is heard (by Allah (SWT), he said the end of the night and at the end of the obligatory Salat (prayer)”Tirmidhi

 4) While Traveling 

The Messenger of Allah (SAW) said:

“Three supplications will not be rejected (by Allah (SWT)), the supplication of the parent for his child, the supplication of the one who is fasting, and the supplication of the traveler”.Bayhaqi & Tirmidhi

 5) While Prostrating 

Abu Hurairah (RA) narrated that Allah’s Messenger (SAW), said:

“The nearest a slave can be to his Lord is when he is prostrating, so invoke (make du’a to) Allah (SWT) much in it”.Muslim & Abu Dawud

 6) On the Day of Arafat 

The Messenger of Allah (SAW) said:

“The best supplication is the supplication on the day of Arafat”.Tirmidhi & Malik

 7) While Breaking the Fast at Iftaar 

The Prophet Muhammad (SAW) said:

“Three men whose dua is never rejected (by Allah) are: the fasting person until he breaks his fast (in another narration, when he breaks fast), the just ruler and the one who is oppressed.”Ahmad & Tirmidhi

 8) When Visiting the Sick 

Umm Salamah narrated that the Prophet (SAW) said:

“When you visit the sick, or the dead then say good, because the angels say ‘Ameen’ to whatever you say”.Muslim

 9) During Ramadan 

The Prophet (SAW) said:

“When Ramadan comes, the Doors of Mercy (another narration says Paradise) are opened, and the doors of Hell are closed, and the Shaitans are locked up”.Bukhari & Muslim

From the above we can take that there is greater chance for our du’as to be accpted during the blessed month of Ramadan.

 10) During the Rain 

Narrated Sahel Ibn Sa’ad (RA) that The Prophet (SAW) said:

“Two will not be rejected, Supplication when the Adhan (call of prayer) is being called, and at the time of the rain”.Bukhari & Muslim

 Take Action 

It’s all good and well knowing this but many of us often get lazy and don’t take full advantage of these many times to make du’a.

More often than not i see people who pray but then proceed to walk straight out the masjid making very very short du’as or sometimes no du’a at all!
